Today I have another cruelty-free/natural/vegan product review coming your way! I’ve been using the Intense Defence with Vitamin C Cleansing Gel from Avalon Organics in my skin care routine for a few months now. I have to say, I really like it; so I thought I’d share some information on it and my complete thoughts of it.

Pros: Cruelty-free, vegan, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free, biodegradable, gentle, fresh citrus scent, cleanses skin without leaving it dry or irritated, convenient pump dispenser.

Cons: Pump dispenser is a bit finicky.

My Thoughts: I completely love this cleansing gel! It’s honestly become my favourite cleanser of all time! First off, I love the scent! I’m a big fan of anything citrus. To me, this cleanser smells very fresh but mild at the same time. Just like its scent, this cleanser is also very mild on skin. I have slightly sensitive skin that can become quite affected by certain harsh cleansers. Some cleansers make my face feel very tight and my cheeks feel hot, but this cleanser does not. I feel that it cleanses my skin very well, without leaving my skin feeling dry or irritated. I also like that this cleanser lathers really well. I always feel like I get a better clean when there’s a bit of a lather — even though that’s probably not entirely accurate! And because this cleanser lathers up, a little goes a long way. Another thing I like about this cleanser is the pump dispenser. It’s so convenient whenever I want to quickly wash my face. I just wet my face, pump some cleanser onto the palm of my hands, lather it a bit, and wash my face. I have to say, though, as much as I love the pump dispenser, sometimes when I try to pump the cleanser out quickly, it squirts in a random direction — which is wasteful and kind of annoying. But, I counteract this by gently pressing the pump dispenser, rather than using force. I definitely plan on repurchasing this cleanser once I’ve used it up. I think it’s going to be a staple in my routine for a while!
