Pros: Cruelty-free; Vegan; Affordable; Lightweight; Good coverage (medium to full); Buildable; Lasts all day; Doesn’t settle into lines or pores.
Cons: Spatula applicator allows bacteria into product; Smells like paint, but it’s not detectable once applied.
My Thoughts: I’ve never really been much of a foundation girl. I’ve always chosen BB or CC creams over foundations, and that’s mainly for two reasons — I’ve always found foundation a bit heavy on my skin and, in all honesty, I’ve never been able to find a good cruelty-free foundation that didn’t cost at least $40. That is until I discovered the Photo Focus Foundation from Wet n Wild! Wet n Wild has always been hit or miss for me — mostly being hit — so when I found this foundation a few months ago for $7.99 I decided, for that price, I’m going to test it out. I’ve been using it pretty regularly for the past couple months or so, and I can honestly say that I love it! This foundation comes in a glass container with a twist-on cap and has a spatula applicator — which has its pros and cons. I always prefer products that either come in a pump container or squeezable container, that way there’s no chance of introducing bacteria. As far as the product itself goes, I would say this foundation is relatively full-coverage but I find it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. I like that it’s buildable, so it’s easy to apply as much coverage as I want. I pretty much always just do one layer because I don’t like to apply a lot of product to my face. But this product is definitely buildable without looking cakey. This foundation doesn’t settle into my pores or the area around my nose — which is always a plus — and I find it lasts pretty much all day. By the end of the day, it’s worn off a bit, but it definitely still provides decent coverage. The only negative thing I can say about this foundation is I don’t like the scent of it. It smells a bit like wet paint, but once it’s applied it’s not detectable — so it’s not a big deal. I totally love this foundation! I think it’s definitely going to be a permanent part of my makeup routine. It’s such good quality and the price is amazing! If you haven’t tried this foundation yet — and you love makeup — I highly recommend it!
