Vegan Rice Crispy Squares, Hot Cocoa, Christmas Movies, and A New Ornament! | Blogmas Day 15!

Christmas is now only 10 days away! This time of year always seems to go by so quickly, don’t you find? I’ve been doing quite a few festive activities so far this month, so I thought I’d share with you guys what I’ve been up to!

A few weeks ago, we did some Christmas decorating around the house. I’m always ready to decorate November 1st, but we always hold off until it’s almost December. I really love decorating! We don’t do anything extravagant, but we do like to add a bit of festivity to our house!  Here are a few of our Christmas decorations!

We found this Christmas village while thrifting a couple years ago! I love it!

How adorable is this little snowman!? Another one of my thrift store finds!
Some of my favourite Christmas tree ornaments!

We found a new Christmas tree ornament — which is a yearly tradition for us. Ever since I was a little girl, we’ve purchased one new ornament for our tree every Christmas. We always try to get something that’s completely different to what we already have. The ornaments we get every year are all different — which I love — but they all have one thing in common — they’re all sparkly!

We picked up this gorgeous ornament at Winners for $7.99 CAD!

I’ve done a bit of baking over the past couple of weeks. I always love to bake — especially around the holidays! When I bake, I always use only vegan ingredients because it’s easy to do and it’s just as delicious! I recently made some yummy vegan rice crispy squares. It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve eaten a rice crispy square because I had no idea there were gelatin-free marshmallows. But, I found a brand of vegan marshmallows called Dandies, which are completely vegan.  I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my homemade vegan rice crispy squares!

I was so excited when I found these vegan marshmallows!

My family and I have gone for a few really nice walks in the snow recently! It finally snowed about a week ago, so we’ve been enjoying walking around our neighbourhood.  A few days ago we got a lot of snow, and I think we’re supposed to get more in a couple days!  Hopefully the snow will stick around for Christmas!  I’m not really a big fan of snow, but it’s really pretty after a fresh snow fall — when everything is all white and sparkly!  And who doesn’t want a white Christmas!?  I’m pretty sure it’ll be a white Christmas for us this year!

We’ve been watching a lot of Christmas movies. Confession time — I actually started watching Christmas movies in early November! I mean, why not!? It’s never too early to start watching Christmas movies! I’ve been watching all of my favourites, and then some!

Watched one of my favourite Christmas movies — The Holiday!
Home Alone! This movie is seriously the best!

We’ve also been listening to a lot of Christmas music!  There’s a local radio station that plays nothing but Christmas music all month long, so we keep the radio on pretty much anytime we’re at home and not sleeping!  Here are some of my favourite Christmas songs!

Another festive thing I’ve been doing is drinking way too much hot chocolate! But there’s nothing better than cozying up and drinking a warm beverage when it’s cold outside!  Hot chocolate is the perfect holiday drink!

How cute is this penguin mug!?

And last — but not least — we’ve been doing a bit of Christmas shopping! I’m someone who gets my Christmas shopping done pretty early, so I’m pretty much done my shopping now (I just have to get a gift for Lucille), but I like to go with others to do their shopping. I love how festive it is in stores and malls …even though I’m not a fan of the crowds!

That’s what I’ve been getting up to lately — holiday wise, I mean! I think we’re going to go for a drive sometime soon to look at all the Christmas lights in our neighbourhood. And I’m sure I’ll be doing some more baking!

What kinds of festive activities have you been up to so far this month?
