I always seem to get sick every winter, which is obviously not fun! The past few days I haven’t been feeling too well, so I thought today I’d share with you my sick day essentials. These are things that help me get through being sick. I didn’t include the basics like medication, facial tissue, etc. because they’re usually essential for everyone. But these things help me to feel a bit more comfortable when I’m sick, and some of them help to pass the time and keep my mind from focusing on the fact that I’m not feeling well! So, without further ado, here are my sick day essentials!
Blanket – I always like to have a super cozy blanket to snuggle up with when I’m sick.
Heat pad – My heat pad is my favourite thing when I’m sick. It really helps to keep me warm and comfy!
Homemade vegetarian soup – I think soup helps make everyone feel a bit better! I used to love chicken noodle soup, but I’ve been a vegetarian for the past (almost) 3 years, so I like to either make homemade vegetable soup (if I’m up to it), or buy some!
Laptop – My laptop is generally my source of entertainment when I’m in bed sick. I can surf the Internet, watch videos, or do some writing!
Lip balm – My lips always get so chapped when I get sick, so I make sure to apply lots of lip balm! I really like using Burt’s Bees lip balm in the scent Vanilla Bean!
Magazines – When I’m sick, I love catching up on my magazines! My favourites are Cosmopolitan and People StyleWatch.
Movies/TV – Another great way to pass the time when I’m sick is to watch a movie or a TV show. My favourite type of movies to watch, especially when I’m sick, are romantic comedies!
Pajamas – These are a must when I’m sick!
Popsicles – They are so good when my throat is sore! They definitely help …and who doesn’t love popsicles?!
Tea – And last but not least, I also really like tea! It warms me up and it helps combat a blocked nose! When I’m sick, I prefer to drink chamomile or mint tea.
